Hand Bound Wedding Albums – Exclusive to you.
We’ve updated our albums from production to binding, which is why there are no pictures (of albums) here at the moment. But trust me. They’re stunning.
From the very beginning, when we first started thinking of wedding photography as something more than simply turning up with a camera, our core principles have been driven by a want to produce a comprehensive and finished product that was always going to be about giving our couples something tactile and personal.
One of the most important things to me was to see photographs in print because that to me is where photographs really shine. We all know that most, if not all, photos will stay on our phone or on a hard drive or somewhere in the cloud, and that’s fine – It’s practical and it’s the nature of dealing with our increasingly online lives. One estimate puts the number at somewhere near One Trillion photos taken through 2015 and this number is set to rise. I’m not great with numbers, but I don’t thing there is even enough paper and ink on the planet to actually print every one of those pictures! (Facts not verified, BTW…)
I’m also a huge fan of the art of bookbinding and how this can transform a product from ‘great’ to a completely new level of luxury. There are some great companies now who specialise in album production and there is more choice than ever before if you’re looking for a modern take on the more traditional wedding album. It’s worth looking at albums from Jorgensen and Folio Albums, both of which we offer here.
But what we’re really proud of is after a lot of research and effort we have found that producing our own signature range of albums is the best way to offer our clients something that they can’t get ‘off the peg’. Our Fusion range of albums offer a tiered line of luxurious books with photographically printed fold-flat pages in a choice of linen covers and combinations that can make an album totally bespoke. Having an extremely talented bookbinder on call to bring my ideas to light is a real joy, and gives us a great advantage as we look at new materials and possibilities in the detail.
They are incredibly personal and they happen to be incredibly good value. We’re in control of every detail, from the colour calibrated printing, to the high quality photographic paper, to the choice of headbands, and even down to the glue used in the binding, and what kind of press is used. Every time I go to see my bookbinder in the workshop we end up chatting through just about anything – We’ve talked at length about the tools of the trade, some of them having been in use for the last 25 years. It’s been an amazing experience to be able to be so hands on with the production, and I’m really excited about what we can come up with in the future.
Our clients get direct access to these beautiful and unique books from any of our packages. We’ve worked very hard to make sure that you can’t get one of our albums from anyone else, and we’ve really made sure that your wedding album is a true one of a kind. My intention was never to print all of the pictures that we present to clients anyway, and I haven’t done anything close to that since something like 2004, but I have always worked at producing an album of photographs with the intention of including a nice edit of photos that would carry the same high quality I would expect to see in professional prints. Everything was always pointing in that direction for me.
